Meet Dalton Valette

I was born and raised in the small town of Superior, Colorado which was home to just over 500 people when I was born there. I am currently studying at the University of Colorado School of Law in Boulder, Colorado pursuing a Master of Studies in Law in Ethics and Compliance with a focus on cybersecurity. I am graduating in May 2019. Previously, I attended Drew University in Madison, New Jersey where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a double minor in English and Law, Justice, and Society. I ran for Superior Trustee (equivalent of town council) in 2018 at the age of 22, the youngest candidate to do so and the first openly gay candidate. I have a patent, I’ve interviewed some of the country’s most controversial figures, and I am an internationally published author. I am also a political junkie, a bibliophile, purple lightsaber wielder, and a Slytherin, and I am excited about what the future holds and thrilled about the opportunities ahead.

Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determiation alone are omnipotent.
— President Calvin Coolidge (1872-1933)
